Play Incorporated

Play Incorporated is a multimedia company founded in the mid-90s. The company's first hardware product, Snappy, allows the user to take a screenshot of analog video through a printer port on a desktop computer. Snappy has sold over 1 million units and has won over 25 awards. Two other products followed, including Trinity (a multi-camera video editing package), and Electric Image (a CGI visual effects software package), which the latter was used in hundreds of movies and TV shows throughout the decade. Play Incorporated returned to the consumer market with Gizmos, a Microsoft Windows accessory package with 3D style user interfaces.

A couple of more products followed after Gizmos and their chroma key lighting technology HoloSet, including their first 3D modelling and animation software, Amorphium, and a video logging add-on for the Palm Pilot, Pocket Producer. Play Incorporated also launched the first television channel on the internet, known as PlayTV. In 2001, Play Incorporated was acquired by Globalstreams.
